    CAMS Research Seminar

    Recent Advances in Immunotherapy for the Treatment of Gastrointestinal Malignancy

    Immunotherapy has revolutionized the cancer treatment because of its remarkable clinical profile in multiple cancers. This presentation will focus on recent advances of immunotherapy for GI malignancy, including newly approved immunotherapy agents and ongoing clinical trials.

    Songchuan Guo, MD, PhD

    Attending Physician in Hematology/Oncology
    NYU Langone Medical Center

    Dr. Guo received his medical education in China. He obtained his PhD degree at Purdue University, Indiana, where he trained in Molecular Virology and Targeted Cancer Therapy and conducted research on a novel nanotechnology platform for targeted cancer therapy. He published the research findings in leading journals including Nano Letters, Human Gene Therapy, and Gene Therapy. After gaining research experiences in basic science, he transitioned back in clinical medicine and received his residency training in Internal Medicine at Montefiore Mount Vernon Hospital of New York, and subsequently, his sub-specialty training in Hematology and Oncology at New York University School of Medicine. His research on colorectal cancer was presented at GI ASCO Meeting. He is currently a faculty member of Perlmutter Cancer Center of NYU. He also works as an attending physician at the NYU Langone Medical Associates - Canal Street where he strives to serve the Asian community with the state-of-the-art cancer care.

    Dinner Seminar in collaboration with LANtern®(Lupus Asian Network) at Hospital for Special Surgery

    Lupus and the Asian Community

    Speaker:

    Cindy Hou, DO, MA, MBA, FACOI
    Infection Control Officer
    Jefferson Health New Jersey

    Dr. Hou was diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus at the age of 7, and despite her illness, she was able to become a physician and an advocate for patients. She is the Infection Control Officer at Jefferson Health New Jersey and is an infectious diseases attending physician with Kennedy Health Alliance Infectious Diseases in Voorhees, New Jersey. She is the physician chair of their Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee and Sepsis on the Floors Task Force throughout their entire hospital system (Jefferson Cherry Hill Hospital, Jefferson Stratford Hospital and Jefferson Washington Township Hospital). Dr. Hou is the physician champion for the NJHA’s (New Jersey Hospital Association) Stewardship Collaborative, a three-year state collaborative to promote guidance on use of antimicrobials and to reduce Clostridium difficile infections. She has two master’s degrees from Boston University, her medical degree of Doctor of Osteopathy from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, and also her bachelor’s in biology from Yale University. In addition, she serves on the Advisory Board for the LANtern®(Lupus Asian Network) at Hospital for Special Surgery.

    Please join the CAMS Social Committee for our first CAMS Dinner Cruise aboard the Spirit of New York. We are delighted to partner with Spirit Cruises to bring CAMS members discounted rate on their 6/2/2018 Dinner Cruise leaving from Pier 61 at Chelsea Piers at 7:00 PM.  

    Tickets are $99* per person for CAMS Members and Immediate Family Members & $110 for Non-CAMS Members. The deadline to register is Monday April 23, 2018

    *Immediate family members include spouse/partner and your children. Please note that there are no "child rate" tickets for any Spirit Dinner Cruises. There is just one flat rate. Your ticket includes all administrative and marina fees associated with the ticket purchase.

    There are absolutely no refunds or exchanges for any cruise tickets.

    What Does Your Ticket Include?

    • A 3 hr cruise on the Hudson and East Rivers
    • Delicious dinner buffet 
    • Unlimited coffee, hot tea, iced tea and water
    • The best views of New York City’s iconic skyline, including world-famous sights like the Empire State Building, Brooklyn Bridge, Statue of Liberty, One World Trade Center
    • Entertainment: Live DJ, dance floor, and games (giant jenga, shuffleboard, foosball, etc.)
    -Please note that there are no "child rate" tickets for any Spirit Dinner Cruises. There is just one flat rate. Children under the age of 3 do not require a "paid ticket."

    Ticket Distribution

    You will be notified by email when tickets have arrived at the CAMS office. Once all tickets are ready to be distributed from the CAMS office, you can get your tickets one of two ways.

    1. You can pick up your tickets from the CAMS.  Pick up will only be available on Mondays and Tuesday from 10 AM to 5 PM.  

    2. By Mail.  All tickets will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail, with Insurance and Signature confirmation. No exceptions. Shipping will be $13.70

    Refund Policy

    There are absolutely no refunds or exchanges for any cruise tickets.
